The Vimy Expeditions

Product Description

The Vimy Expeditions, written by pilot and project leader Peter McMillian, tells the story of a spirited group of individuals who devoted large chunks of their lives and livelihoods to rebuilding the mammoth Vickers F.B.27 Vimy biplane of 1919 and then seeing the world from their open cockpit.  Full of colour, cepia and black & white pictures, this gloriously illustrated 255 page hard-back book, which comes with its own cardboard outer sleeve, also contains maps of the three epic flights (England to Australia - 1994, England to South Africa - 1999 and Crossing the Atlantic - 2005) and chapters about the Vimy's tour across America (2001 to 2005).  The books closes with a chapter devoted to the Vimys final flight, which brought her home to Brooklands Museum in the November of 2009.
